Attorney General calls for national mediation movement

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Attorney General for India R. Venkataramani on Sunday called for the launch of a “National Mediation Movement,” asserting that mediation must move to the center of India’s justice delivery framework.
He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the Mission Mediation Conclave 2025 and the closing session of the 3rd Edition of Mediation Championship India (MCI 2025) held at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.
Emphasizing that mediation is not an optional supplement but a transformational justice tool, the Attorney General said, “Mediation is not merely a process; it is a powerful instrument of national development and social harmony. We must institutionalise mediation, recognise mediators, and create a culture where dialogue is preferred over adversarial conflict.”

SC reserves verdict on bail pleas of six accused in Delhi riots larger conspiracy case

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict on the bail petitions filed by six accused, Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam, Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shadab Ahmed, and Mohd Saleem Khan in the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case of 2020.
A Bench comprising Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice NV Anjaria concluded the extensive hearing. It directed the parties to compile and submit all documents by December 18, making it clear that the Court intends to decide the matter before the winter recess beginning December 19.
