At NITI Aayog meet, Bihar pushes for education, skill and tourism projects

Patna, June 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday said the state is emerging as an active force in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047 and sought the Centre’s support for a range of projects related to skill development, higher education, tourism, industrialisation and drinking water.
Addressing the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, Choudhary said Bihar is no longer merely a participant in the country’s development journey but is playing a transformative role in promoting inclusive human development.
Assuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the state’s commitment to the goal of a developed India, the Chief Minister said the Bihar government was working continuously under the guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

Dawn-to-Dusk heavy vehicles ban re-enforced in UNESCO Site Santiniketan by Bengal government after 14 years

Santiniketan, July 22 (UNI) After a hiatus of over 14 years, the West Bengal government has reinforced the ban on movement of heavy vehicles from dawn to dusk in the Unesco Cultural Heritage tag site of Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan, located in Birbhum district and declared it as a no-honking zone.

New plant species Disporum yobinorum discovered in Arunachal

Manipur: Bridge connecting remote villages destroyed in IED blast

Imphal, Jul 22 (UNI) A Bailey bridge constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was destroyed in a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Kamjong district today, severing the only road connectivity to several remote villages and prompting a police investigation.
According to police, the explosion occurred in between Phange and Chatric villages over the Namban Lok River.

College Street will not be entirely vehicle-free; book shops will not be razed: Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul
