Assam Rifles troops organise Yoga in Manipur

Imphal, June 20 (UN) Troops of Assam Rifles organised yoga related events in Manipur to make people aware of Yoga and its benefits.
Assam Rifles official said HQ IGAR (South), launched Mass Yoga Awareness Drive this month across Imphal East , Imphal West, Kakching, Chandel, Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Tegnoupal, Kamjong, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts. The initiative is aimed at promoting Health, Calmness and Equanimity.
The official said, “Yoga, an ancient practice for physical and mental peace, has gained global acclaim for its numerous benefits and various Stress Management Courses were also held at Sajik Tampak and Shelon which were participated by troops and local residents. Such events were organized to focus on mental and physical benefits. Training of Trainers Programme , week-long courses were also organized to educate the benefits of yoga and basic asanas.
