Assam Rifles honours new recruited Army officer from Manipur

Imphal, March 14 (UNI) Assam Rifles Mantripukhri Battalion today organised a felicitation ceremony to honour Lieutenant Wikhamlubou Pamei, a young officer recently commissioned into the Indian Army from the Officers Training Academy, Chennai.
Senior Officials, along with troops, joined the event to celebrate his achievement and inspire the youth of the region.
Lt Pamei, a native of Kuilong village in Tamenglong District and presently residing at Kanglatongbi in Imphal West, has become a source of immense pride for his community. His journey from a remote village to the ranks of a Commissioned officer reflects perseverance, dedication and commitment to serving the nation.

Drug seizure triggers chain of violence in Manipur's Bishnupur; 18 injured in firing, four arrested

Imphal/Bishnupur, Apr 14 (UNI) A major drug seizure at Tulihal Airport today set off a chain of events that culminated in fresh violence in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, where at least 18 people, including five women, were seriously injured in firing during clashes between security forces and a mob.
