Addressing a press conference here Mr Amit Nigam, Co-Founder, AskMe Grocery said currently the portal has its network in 38 cities across the country with around 1000 plus grocery stores in its fold.
It would expand its presence to 80 cities, mostly tier one and two cities by the end of March 2017 with around 2500 to 3000 grocery stores to its fold, he said.
On the occasion he also unveiled its business plans for the city of Ahmedabad and announced that it has entered into strategic alliances with some of the key local brands in the city like Bhagwati Flour Mills (Gaay and Uttam), Sunrise Phenyl and Quality Food Products (Jaraso Spices), with the objective of promoting local brands and will help them scale their businesses.

The company plans to nurture an ecosystem of local sellers and promote the selling of local brands which already enjoys widespread popularity amongst the citizens of Ahmedabad. In line with its nation-wide standards, AskMe Grocery promises to deliver grocery in Ahmedabad inside the window of 4-6 hours of order placement. This will be made possible through its existing 5 hubs and further strengthened by the company’s partnerships with 15 kirana stores, 5 stationary shops, 5 Patanjali stores, 5 pet stores, 5 cosmetic stores and 5 organic stores.
Speaking on the company’s plans for Ahmedabad he said, “It was in October 2015 that we had opened our first hub in the city of Ahmedabad. Today, we have expanded to 5 strategically located hubs in Ahmedabad which have now become instrumental in helping us adhere to our 4-6 hours of delivery benchmark. We are currently in three cities of Guajrat ie Ahmeabad, Surat and Vadodara but plan to expand to Bhavnagar, Jamnagar and Rajkot in near future as well".
Mr. Nigam also “We’ve always been particularly excited about doing business in Ahmedabad largely because of the immense awareness people have about online shopping in this city. Our business has grown by around 55% month on month in Ahmedabad. We are in talks with a number of local brands and will soon be announcing many more new alliances with local brands to strengthen our customer connect in the city.”
