Ashmita reaches third straight quarter-final on BWF World Tour

Macau, June 18 (UNI) Ashmita Chaliha continued her impressive comeback from injury by reaching the quarter-finals of the Macau Open 2026 badminton tournament on Thursday.
The 19-year-old Anmol Kharb also advanced to the last eight, while India’s Asian Games-bound shuttlers Tharun Mannepalli and Isharani Baruah bowed out in the round of 16 of the BWF Super 300 tournament.
Ashmita, 63rd in the badminton rankings, secured her place in the quarters after beating USA’s world No. 65 Ishika Jaiswal 22-20, 21-15 in 32 minutes.
