Asam revises tea garden working hours amid heatwave alert

Guwahati, June 13 (UNI) Given the prevailing heatwave conditions across the state, the Assam Labour Welfare Department on Friday revised the working hours for all tea gardens in the state.
A notification issued by the Labour Welfare department said this and added that the decision has been taken in the interest of the health and welfare of tea garden workers.
As per the official notification issued by the department, the existing working hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM have been revised to 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM until further orders.
