Arunachal: Woman drug peddler arrested, 17.2 gm of suspected heroin seized

Itanagar, Apr 27 (UNI) In a major breakthrough in the fight against narcotics, the Ziro Police team, under the guidance of Lower Subansiri district Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra, arrested a woman allegedly involved in drug peddling.
Acting on a credible information that one Chiging Rillung (50) was in possession of contraband substances and operating from her rented apartment near the Medical Colony, a swift operation was launched by a team comprising Sub-Inspectors J Yomcha, J Doye, ASI C Tallo, and constables T Param and C Seema, under the supervision of SDPO Ziro.
Upon thorough search of the premises, the team recovered 13 plastic vials containing suspected heroin weighing 17.2 grams from her possession.

Jowai, May 21 (UNI) Meghalaya has emerged as one of the leading states in healthcare investment, with over 8 per cent of the annual state budget—more than Rs. 1,000 crore—dedicated to the health sector, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Wednesday.
“The government is supporting not only state-run hospitals but also collaborating with church-run and non-profit hospitals,” he said after inaugurating the Hubert Rosario Road in Spein, Mookaswan, West Jaintia Hills district.
