Arunachal Pradesh to begin House Listing Operations for Census 2027 from April 16

Itanagar, Mar 8 (UNI) The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has announced the schedule for the House Listing Operations (HLO) as part of the upcoming Census of India 2027. The exercise, which marks the first phase of the Census process, will begin across the state on April 16 next.
The House Listing Operations are aimed at collecting basic information about buildings, houses and households. The data gathered during this phase will help the government plan and implement development programmes more effectively by assessing housing conditions, availability of basic amenities and other socio-economic indicators, officials said.
As part of the digital initiative under the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India, the process will include a self-enumeration facility before the start of the field survey. The self-enumeration period will run from April 16 to 30, allowing residents to submit their household information online through the official census portal using computers or smartphones. This facility is intended to make the process easier and reduce the time required for fieldwork.
