Arunachal Minister presses for declaring Mithun as domestic animal 'in a cohesive way'

Itanagar, Oct 15 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development Minister Gabriel D Wangsu, while stressing the need of all Mithun rearing States to share common platform to address the concerns pertaining to the most prized possession of the tribal communities, insisted on declaring Mithun as domestic animal in a cohesive way.
Post releasing the roadmap for revitalizing mithun sector in Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of 37th Foundation Day of ICAR-National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland on Tuesday, the Minister strongly advocated for propagating Mithun rearing since it is intricately linked to tribal culture and traditions.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Wangsu said: “Mithun, a gentle giant, is the thermometer to understand the quality of the environment where Mithun thrives. It may be taken for granted that the natural environment is at its best.”

Calcutta high court cancels 317 teacher appointments made by GTA, calls process illegal

Kolkata, Dec 17 (UNI) The Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) has suffered a fresh setback in the Calcutta High Court over alleged corruption in teacher recruitment in the hills when Justice Biswajit Basu cancelled the appointments of 317 teachers, holding the entire recruitment process to be illegal and against the law on Wednesday.
The appointments were made by the GTA and later came under legal scrutiny.
