Arunachal Dy CM Chowna Mein conferred honorary doctorate by Gauhati University

Itanagar, Apr 25 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) by Gauhati University during its 32nd Convocation held in Guwahati on Friday.
The honorary degree was awarded in recognition of Mein’s exceptional contributions to political leadership, cultural preservation, and regional development.
As Deputy Chief Minister since 2016, Mein has played a pivotal role in Arunachal Pradesh’s hydropower reforms, cultural revitalisation of the Tai Khamti heritage, and promotion of regional connectivity including the push to reopen the historic Stilwell Road, connecting Arunachal Pradesh with Myanmar and Southeast Asia.

Ranchi, Nov 14 (UNI) Ghatshila has once again reaffirmed its support for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) as party candidate Somesh Chandra Soren secured a decisive victory in the assembly by-election. Soren, son of the late Education Minister Ramdas Soren, defeated BJP candidate Babulal Soren by a margin of 38,524 votes.

Special programmes held across 21,000 Village Organisations on state's Silver Jubilee Foundation Day

Ranchi, Nov 14 (UNI) Marking the Silver Jubilee of State's Foundation Day, the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), under the Rural Development Department, organised special programmes simultaneously across more than 21,000 Village Organisations (VOs) in the state. Rural women associated with Sakhi Mandals, along with local public representatives, participated enthusiastically in these community events. The discussions across VOs focused on state's 25-year development journey, socio-economic changes, and the growing leadership of women in rural governance and livelihoods.

Tejashwi marks third consecutive victory in Raghopur
