Arunachal: 51.45 gram heroin seized in separate operations, 3 peddlers arrested

Itanagar, Apr 20 (UNI) As part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign under Operation Dawn 2.0, Nirjuli and Papu Hills Police Stations conducted two separate operations on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of three drug peddlers and the seizure of a total of 51.45 grams of suspected heroin, Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said on Sunday.
Acting on credible intelligence, a police team from Nirjuli PS led by SDPO Naharlagun Rishi Longdo, Officer-in-Charge Inspector T M Nekam, and SI G Tok, conducted a naka checking at Dikrong Colony. During the operation, two individuals on a two-wheeler - Almaz Ali (20) and Ajaharul Islam (21) were intercepted. Upon personal search, a total of 12 vials and one tobacco container, containing suspected heroin weighing 30.42 grams, were recovered from their possession.
In another operation, based on input regarding drug-related activity near the Railway Station, Tarajuli, a team led by Papu Hills PS OC Inspector Torum Mai, along with Inspectors G Basar and B Sumnyan, SI A K Jha, and constable P Halder conducted a swift operation, leading to the arrest of one Roshidul Hoque (27), a resident of Bishnupur, Laluk (Assam), currently residing at Niti Colony, Yupia-II.
