Arson attack on synagogue in Melbourne classify as act of terrorism: Police

Sydney, Dec 9 (UNI) Australian police have classified the arson attack on Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne as an act of terrorism, Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said on Monday.
"We've investigated over the weekend, we've had significant progress … we've gained intelligence and evidence, and we've then as a result of that … brought us to the situation we're in now where we are saying we are treating this as a terrorist attack," Patton was quoted as saying by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).
Patton added that the investigation, carried out by Victoria Police, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Australian Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO), had identified three suspects. However, further details were not disclosed to avoid compromising the investigation.
