Army GOC in Chief briefs Manipur Governor

Imphal, Jan 14 (UNI) General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Eastern Command, Lt. Gen. Ram Chander Tiwari called on the Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Tuesday.
GOC Spear Corps, Lt. Gen. Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC 57 Mtn. Div. Maj. Gen. S S Kartikeya and IGAR South Maj. Gen. Ravroop Singh accompanied the GOC-in-C.
GOC-in-C briefed the Governor on the prevailing security situation in Manipur and also about the security status of the whole North Eastern region.

Five killed, over 70 injured as bus overturns at Orsa Ghat

Latehar, Jan 18 (UNI) Five passengers including four women were killed while more than 70 passengers were injured, several of them critically, when a passenger bus plyimg from Balrampur in Chhattisgarh to the famous tourist destination Lodh Falls, met with a major mishap on Sunday at Orsa Ghat in Latehar district of Jharkhand. The accident occurred after the bus reportedly suffered brake failure while descending a steep slope, causing it to overturn, police officials said.
