Apollo launches 'Zero to Hero' campaign on World Cancer Day

Bengaluru, Feb 4 (UNI) In a country where cancer is often discovered only when it turns into a crisis, Apollo Cancer Centre on Wednesday launched its ‘Zero to Hero’ campaign with a clear message — catch cancer at zero, not at crisis.
Marking World Cancer Day, the initiative calls for a shift in how Indians approach cancer, from late-stage treatment to early detection at Stage Zero, when the disease is most manageable and survival rates are highest.
India reported over 15 lakh new cancer cases in 2024, according to ICMR–NCRP data presented in Parliament. With one in nine Indians facing a lifetime cancer risk, experts warn that the real challenge is not the lack of treatment, but delayed diagnosis. More than 70 per cent of cancers in India are still detected at advanced stages, when treatment is aggressive, outcomes are uncertain and families face enormous emotional and financial strain.
