AP: Rains, floods batter AP districts, crops in thousands of acres inundated

Vijayawada, Aug 14 (UNI) Heavy rains and floods have battered coastal Andhra districts, crops in thousands acres were marooned and road connectivity to many villages remained cut off.

The floods, followed by heavy rains, wreaked havoc in the coastal Andhra districts causing huge damage to the crops and roads at many places. The vehicular traffic was badly disrupted on national and state highways as flood waters overflowed on the roads at many places. Road connectivity was disrupted to several villages as roads washed away at Reddy Ganapavaram on the Jeelugumilli-Pattiseema road in Eluru district.
