AP: over 11k kg of PDS rice seized in a private premise

Kakinada, July 8 (UNI) The civil supplies, Deputy Tahasildar and Revenue officials of Kakinada rural mandal inspected a private premise4 in Drivers colony of Toorangi village, a city suburb today and identified 11,335 kgs of PDS rice clandestinely stocked.
The rice was purchased from the poor people and stocked by two traders – Amalakota Varahalu, and Thalari Virababu – both from VK Rayapuram village of Samalkot Mandal. The rice was seized and for safety reasons shifted to the Government's MLS godowns nearby.
The cost of the seized PDS rice is estimated to be around Rs.5.27 lakhs.
