AP: Odisha RTC bus catches fire, passengers escaped unhurt

Parvatipuram, Nov 6 (UNI) Close on the heels of private travel bus catching for in which 19 passengers charred alive in Kurnool district on October 24, an RTC bus of Odisha State caught fire and gutted at Roddavalasa village of Pachipenta mandal of Paravatipura Manyamdistrict in AP.
However, five passengers travelling in the bus had a miraculousescape. Police said that the ill-fated bus was going to Jayapura in Odisha fromVisakhapatnam. When the bus was going onthe ghat road, the driver noticed smoke emanating from the engine at around 8am.
He immediately stoppedthe bus and alerted the passers, who got down from the bus. Flames engulfed the buswithin minutes and the bus had been gutted in the flames before the firetenders reached the place and extinguished the flames.
