AP Minister asks scientists to advise farmers during calamities to save crops

Vijayawada, Jan 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Agriculture K Atchannaidu asked the scientists on Monday to give advice to the farmers on measures to be taken during calamities to save their crops.
The Minister held a meeting here with the Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University Vice-chancellor Dr. R Sharada Jayalakshmi Devi and other scientists. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that agricultural scientists need to work more responsibly in the backdrop of climate change and crop pests faced by farmers.
Minister Atchennaidu suggested that when insects, pests or natural disasters occur, university scientists should immediately visit the respective areas and provide timely and appropriate advice to farmers and agricultural officials.
