AP: Free Robotic cardiac surgery performed at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences at Puttaparthi

Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 16 (UNI) The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram, marked a monumental milestone in its journey by performing its first-ever robotic cardiac surgery — totally free of cost —using an indigenously developed platform.
With this, SSSIHMS has become the first institution in the world to offer robotic cardiac surgeries completely free of cost, extending the healing touch of Sai to all, irrespective of financial means, caste, creed and religion, the Institute stated in a release here on Thursday.
The state-of-the-art robotic system — a marvel of the “Make in India” spirit — is the SSI Mantra, an indigenous surgical robotic platform developed by SS Innovations under the visionary guidance of Dr Sudhir Srivastava, Founder, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations.
