AP: CS directs officials to ensure all CCTV cameras function properly

Vijayawada, Jan 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand on Thursday instructed the officials to ensure that all 14,000 CCTV cameras installed at various important junctions, high-traffic areas and other locations across the State are functioning properly.
The Chief Secretary held a video conference with District Collectors from the Secretariat on the CCTV project. The government has set a target of installing one lakh CCTV cameras across the State and more than 14,000 cameras have already been installed.
The Chief Secretary said that the police are already resolving complex crimes with the help of these surveillance cameras in various areas adding that the government has taken steps to bring the entire State under surveillance.
