AP CM proposes Rs 25,000 incentive for third child birth

Vijayawada, Mar 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that his government proposes to sanction an incentive of Rs 25,000 under ‘Poshana-Siksha-Suraksha’ package to encourage third child births as part of its path breaking population management policy to be introduced from April 1.
Speaking in the state legislative assembly on Thursday after presenting the draft proposals, the Chief Minister said the policy package includes grant of Rs1,000 per month to the third child for five years and free education upto 18 years. The population management policy to be finalised by March end, would be the first of its kind in the country, he said.
The Chief Minister recalled that the state government provided an opportunity to those having more than two children to contest the local body elections. The government also provided financial assistance under ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme irrespective of the number of children, to encourage population growth.
