AP: Civic welfare body demands immediate merger of six urban areas in Kakinada city

Kakinada, Aug 11(UNI) The city civic welfare association has demanded the government to expedite the process of merger of six urban villages - Toorangi, Indrapalem, Cheediga, Valasapakala, Vakalapudi and Ramanaiahpeta in Kakinada city.
The association has deplored that these six villages were deprived of elections and governing bodies for the past 13 years.
Dusarlapudi Ramanaraju, social activist and convener of the Civic Welfare Association said that these villages were declared urban but were being continued under special officers' rule without conducting elections under the pretext of some technical grounds.
