AP: 1024 KGs of ganja seized, 3 peddlers held

Paderu, Sep 13 (UNI) The police today seized a huge quantity of 1,024 KGs of ganja while being transported in a mini-transport vehicle at Gomangi village of Pedabayalu mandal of ASR district.

Police said that acting on a tip off, an excise police team conducted checking of vehicles. When they checked a mini-transport vehicle they found 1,024 KGs of ganja being transported. The ganja was neatly packed in 34 bags.

AP govt to present awards for best journalists for year 2025-26

Vijayawada, May 13 (UNI) The government of Andhra Pradesh will present awards to the journalists who have demonstrated outstanding excellence in the field of journalism for the year 2025-26.
Addressing a press conference, flanked by I&PR Director KS Viswanathan, here on Wednesday, CR Media Academy Chairman Alapati Suresh Kumar said that the government has set up a four-member committee chaired by him.

AP Govt aimed to make 5 lakh women entrepreneurs: Minister

Vijayawada, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for SERP and Rural Poverty Elimination Kondapalli Srinivas has reiterated that the government has aimed to create over 5 lakh women entrepreneurs and directed the officials to coordinate and extend all required help to the women.
The Minister held a meeting with the SERP officials and reviewed various issues here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized that training should be imparted to artisans and handicrafts to improve their skills.
