AOI’s advanced treatment saves life of cancer patient

Vijayawada, May 19 (UNI) American Oncology Institute (AOI) located at Kanuru, near here, announced the successful treatment of a challenging case of Follicular Lymphoma Stage IV in a 62-year-old male patient.
The patient's journey began with complaints of weight loss and debilitating backache persisting over six months. Initially evaluated in other hospitals, he was diagnosed with multiple large abdominal lymph nodes and underwent treatment under tuberculosis protocols. However, due to persistent symptoms, the patient sought re-evaluation at AOI, under the care of Dr Sai Krishna Kolluru.
Dr Kolluru's thorough examination and biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Follicular Lymphoma Stage IV with bulky lymph nodes and bone involvement. It's a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in a relatively advanced stage that has spread not just in one area anymore but has moved to other parts like the bone marrow or organs such as the liver, spleen, or lungs. With AOI's multidisciplinary approach and advanced treatment modalities, the patient underwent six cycles of chemoimmunotherapy over six months.
