New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) India on Friday stated that it sees the violent anti-quota protests sweeping Bangladesh as an “internal matter” of that country, and added that all Indian nationals are safe.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, answering queries at a briefing here, also said that there are 15,000 Indians in Bangladesh, which includes 8,500 Indian students.
Answering queries on the advisory issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka asking Indians to avoid local travel and minimise their movement outside their residences, the spokesperson said that "All Indians are safe in Bangladesh".
