Amit Shah likely to visit Shillong on Jan 23

Shillong, Jan 13 ( UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Shillong on January 23 for the plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC), Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed on Wednesday.
“I had a discussion day before yesterday with the Union home minister on some other issues. We have discussed and I will be talking to him again on the phone. He is supposed to come here on January 23 for the NEC plenary meeting,” Sangma told reporters.
The Union Home Minister is the ex-officio chairperson of the NEC, the regional planning body of the eight North Eastern States while Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will be its Vice Chairman.
