Amidst 'Devender Rana Amar Rahe' chants, Jammu bids emotional farewell to BJP MLA

Jammu, Nov 1 (UNI) Thousands of people on Friday gathered here to pay their last respects to senior leader and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Devender Singh Rana, who passed away after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Haryana.

His cremation took place here this evening at Shastri Nagar Cremation Ground.

Sub-inspector caught red-handed taking bribe in Mau

Mau, Nov 07 (UNI) In a major action by the Anti-Corruption Organization Team, Sub-Inspector Ajay Singh of Haladhar Pur police station was caught red-handed on Friday evening while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The arrest took place around 4 pm at a juice shop located next to the police station. The team immediately took the accused officer to Dakshin Tola police station for questioning. News of his arrest created a stir within the police department.

Amritsar youth alleges forced religious conversion

Chandigarh, Nov 7 (UNI) In an alleged forced religious conversion in Amritsar, a Hindu youth has accused his father and stepmother of coercing him into converting to Islam. The complainant, identified as Krishna Khonsla of Millap Avenue in Ghannupur, claimed he was sent to Bengaluru under the guise of education and employment, where he was allegedly circumcised and made to adopt a new name.
