Amid 'severe' AQI, Sirsa appeals to citizens to comply with GRAP- III restrictions

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday said that pollution control measures under the Graded Response Action Plan's stage- III are being implemented in the national capital, as the air quality index (AQI) continued to remain in the ‘severe’ category for the second day in a row.
He urged residents to cooperate and comply with the restrictions that have been put in place to tackle the pollution scenario.
Sirsa said that during the winter season when the city goes through a tough time battling pollution, smoke generated from sources like biomass burning, including firewood, raw coal etc, adds to the smog, and also mentioned that incidents of waste burning have come come to notice, that needed to be curbed.
