Alld HC gives bail to remaining 6 accused in 'Iftar Party on River Ganga' case

Prayagraj, May 18 (UNI) Allahabad High Court on Monday granted bail to the remaining six accused of the total 14 involved in the Iftar Party on the Ganga River case.
Authorities had arrested 14 individuals after a viral video showed the group consuming non-vegetarian food on a boat and discarding leftovers into the sacred river, prompting legal action for public nuisance and hurting religious sentiments. The police had registered an FIR against 14 people in this controversial case and sent them all to jail.
The court granted bail on the basis of an apology by all the accused in their affidavits.

Uttarakhand to be declared fully literate state; govt to bear partial insurance cost of mules used on pilgrimage tracks

Dehradun, Jun 18 (UNI) Uttarakhand's Pushkar Singh Dhami government has decided to declare the state fully literate, with the cabinet's formal approval on Thursday. The state government will also bear 20 percent insurance premium cost of around 15,000 equestrian animals used on the Kedarnath and other pilgrimage tracks.
