All 30 districts of Odisha to have Medical Colleges soon : Minister

Bhubaneswar, Dec 9 (UNI) All the 30 districts of Odisha will have a medical college soon, Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling told the state Assembly on Monday.
Replying to a question of Tankadhar Tripathy (BJP) the Minister said his party in its election Manifesto had promised to ensure that each district has a Medical College and the government is committed to it.
Replying to a supplementary, Mahaling said a review of the new medical set up in the state indicated that a sum of Rs 250 to 300 crore is needed to set up a medical college. While the central government provides 60 percent of the cost the rest 40 percent of the cost is borne by the state government.
