Alcaraz battles past Etcheverry to reach Monte-Carlo Masters quarter-finals

Monaco, April 10 (UNI) Carlos Alcaraz had to battle his way through three sets to advance to the quarter-finals at the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters.
The defending ATP Masters 1000 champion defeated Argentina’s Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the round of 16 on Thursday (9 April), booking his spot in the next round with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 result.
What started as plain sailing for the Spanish tennis star ended up in a two hour, 24-minute battle against the world No. 30.
