Akhilesh rules out early UP polls, demands probe into Kolkata EVM fire

Agra, June 14 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday ruled out the possibility of early Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and demanded a thorough investigation into the fire incident in Kolkata in which electronic voting machines (EVMs) were reportedly destroyed.
Claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would be wiped out in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Yadav alleged that the ruling partymight resort to unfair means to retain power.
"The BJP lost in Uttar Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It will now resort to dishonesty in 2027 to stay in power," he said.
