Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan's Thiruvananthapuram leg to be inaugurated today

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 8 (UNI) The 67th Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan, an annual national music festival organised by Prasar Bharati- All India Radio, has commenced across 24 selected cities in the country.
The Thiruvananthapuram leg of the festival will be inaugurated on Saturday evening at Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan here at 5-45 p,m.
The event will be inaugurated in the presence of K. Omanakutty. The programme will feature a Panchavadyam performance led by Kudamaloor Muraleedhara Marar and team, followed by a Carnatic vocal concert by Dr. N. J. Nandini, and light music performances by Ajith G. Krishnan and S. R. Sreekutty.
Instituted in 1954, the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan is considered one of India’s most prestigious music festivals, showcasing Hindustani, Carnatic, light, and folk music traditions. Now in its 67th edition, the festival continues to promote India’s classical and contemporary music heritage through simultaneous concerts across multiple cities.
The recorded concerts will be broadcast on All India Radio from December 26, 2025, to January 23, 2026, between 10 p,m. and 11 p.m. daily. They will also be available on Raagam (DTH), DD Bharati, the Raagam YouTube channel, WAVES OTT platform, and the NewsOnAIR mobile app.
Entry to the Thiruvananthapuram event is free, with invitation passes issued from the All India Radio office on a first-come, first-served basis. UNI DS SQ SSP
