Air India Express accident: AAIB begins probe

Tiruchirappalli, Oct 16 (UNI) An official team from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), a division of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on Tuesday began a high-level probe into the accident involving an Air India Express aircraft with 136 passengers and crew on board, which occurred during take-off from Tiruchirappalli International Airport.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft hit an Instrument Landing System (ILS) antenna tower and then, the perimeter wall of the airport on early Friday and stayed airborne for close to four hours, cruising its way to Dubai at 36,000 feet with ruptured belly.
