AIMIM leader targets former minister over Mahashivratri visit, Purification ritual after temple visit triggers political storm

Mumbai, Feb 16 (UNI) A fresh political controversy has erupted in Maharashtra after AIMIM leader Waris Pathan on Monday questioned former state minister Abdul Sattar over his visit to a Mahadev temple where a purification ritual was allegedly conducted due to his presence, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
Reacting strongly to the development, Pathan said attention should not be confined only to those who sprinkled gomutra inside the temple premises but must also focus on Sattar’s actions. He said Abdul Sattar should be asked why he chose to visit the temple in the first place.
According to Pathan, Sattar went there to offer prayers and should not deny it. He further questioned why a purification ritual was carried out by those present after the visit. Indirectly referring to Sattar's links with the BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde facrion), Pathan alleged that "leaders like Sattar engage in such acts to please their political masters".
