AIIMS ,Bhubanswar doctors save a fragile newborn from life-threatening duodenal atresia

Bhubaneswar, Apr 15 (UNI) In a remarkable display of medical prowess, the life of a 1.1 kg very low birth weight newborn afflicted with duodenal atresia, an exceptionally rare condition was saved by the doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar.

The infant, whose name is being withheld for privacy reasons, was born prematurely with duodenal atresia in the hospital, a congenital anomaly characterized by a blockage in the first part of the small intestine known as the duodenum.
