AICC appoints new president in Tripura

Agartala, Sept 25 (UNI) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed senior Congress leader and former minister Birajit Sinha as the President of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) last night replacing the adhoc chief of the party Pijush Kanti Biswas after one and half years .
The AICC general secretary K C Venugopal appointed Sinha as TPCC president along with five working presidents-- Billal Miah, Prof Manik Deb, Sushanta Chakraborty, Purnita Chakma and Dr. Pradeep Bardhan. Trinamool congress has poached almost all the influential leaders of Congress in last three months.
The Congress leaders have been accusing Biswas of his failure to spread the organisation and formed the committee after 2019 Loksabha poll. A week after the resignation of All India Mahila Congress Chief Sushmita Dev, Biswas on Saturday had resigned from the post and the party as well last month.
