AI, Data Science upskilling doubles leadership roles

Bengaluru, Mar 20 (UNI) Great Learning, a global leader in higher education and professional training, has released its Career Progression Report 2024-25, underscoring the long-term impact of upskilling on career advancement.
The study, based on a survey of 1,000 alumni from its AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning programs, highlights how continuous learning enhances employability, leadership opportunities, and salary growth.
According to the report, 80% of professionals witnessed positive career shifts post-upskilling, including promotions, salary hikes, and successful transitions.
Within two years of completing their programs, 74% had received a promotion or changed roles, with 69% switching jobs within or outside their organization, while 31% enhanced their existing positions.
Notably, leadership roles doubled among upskilled professionals, with 66% moving up the career ladder. Many transitioned from individual contributor roles to leadership and managerial positions, demonstrating the growing value of AI and Data Science expertise in business strategy.
Salary increments also reflected the impact of upskilling, with early-career professionals (0-3 years of experience) seeing an average hike of 139%. Mid-career professionals (3-8 years) saw a 93% increase, while those with 8-12 years of experience gained 50%. Senior professionals (12+ years) experienced a 41% rise.
Career transition was a primary motivation for 60% of upskilled professionals, with 72% actively applying their new skills in their roles. Hari Krishnan Nair, Co-Founder of Great Learning, emphasised that upskilling is a long-term strategy for career success in an AI-driven job market.

In push to renewable energy, Telangana to have 6,000 EV charging stations by 2030

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd (TGREDCO) on Thursday said that it aims to scale up the initiative with 6,000 EV charging stations by 2030 and 12,000 by 2035, underpinned by Telangana's EV & Energy Storage Policy (2020–2030) and Clean Energy Policy (2025).
Corporation Vice Chairman and Managing Director V. Anila said the program is also aligned with PM e-Drive and Telangana Mobility Valley, ensuring continued innovation and sustainability.
