Agra woman files case against social media influencer over obscene content

Agra, Jan15 (UNI) A woman in Agra filed a complaint at the cyber police station against a social media influencer on Thursday, alleging that obscene content was being circulated on Instagram and was accessible to children.
According to the complaint, the incident came to light when the woman’s children were watching Instagram reels on her mobile phone. She alleged that an obscene clip suddenly appeared on the screen, prompting her to immediately take the phone away from her children.
The complainant, Ruby Tomar, a resident of Fatehabad Road under the Tajganj police station area, said she supplies Ayurvedic medicines. She stated that on January 4, while visiting a beauty parlour in Kamla Nagar for work, she noticed a woman watching Instagram reels. During that time, an allegedly obscene reel appeared. The reel was quickly removed, but Ruby said such content has a negative impact on children and society. She further alleged that on January 5, while her children were using Instagram at home in her presence, the same influencer’s reel appeared again. After this, she checked the Instagram page and claimed that all the reels uploaded on the account contained obscene material.
