Afghanistan: 10 civilians killed in landmine blast

Khost, Afghanistan, Dec 17 (UNI) As many as ten civilians, including three children, were killed in a landmine explosion in Afghanistan's eastern Khost province on Tuesday, a police spokesperson confirmed.
'The explosion occurred roughly at 0500 hrs (local time) in Ali Shir district, when a vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device (IED) and the explosion tore apart the vehicle", Spokesperson Haidar Adel told Xinhua.
The official blamed the Taliban militant group, for planting the IED along a dusty road.
Taliban militants have been using home-made IEDs to make roadside bombs and landmines.
