AFC Asian Cup Qualifier: India rue missed chances, go down 1-2 to Singapore

Madgaon, Oct 14 (UNI) It was the familiar story of missed chances as India saw their hopes of making it to the main round of the AFC Asian Cup go up in smoke after suffering a 1-2 defeat against Singapore in the qualifier at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here today.
For the winners, Song Uiyong struck twice after Lallianzuala Changte gave India the early lead.
Despite creating more scoring chances and enjoying the greater share of ball possesion, the home team came out second best, disappointing the spectators.

Fuoco claims first FIA GT World Cup win for Ferrari in Macao

Starting from pole after having won Saturday's qualification race, Fuoco led all 16 laps of the main race in his 296 GT3 for AF Corse SRL.

Olympic champion Gao wins men's 500m bronze at speed skating World Cup season opener

Washington, Nov 16 (UNI) China collected two medals in the men's sprint events at the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Salt Lake City, with Olympic champion Gao Tingyu taking bronze in the men's 500m and Ning Zhongyan finishing runner-up in the men's 1,500m as the season opened on one of the world's fastest rinks.
In a disrupted men's 500m marked by crashes and a brief ice repair, American sensation Jordan Stolz, fresh from 1,000m gold on Friday, registered another triumph in 33.88 seconds.

India 10/2 at lunch, need 114 more to win Kolkata test

Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) At lunch on Day 3 of the first Test at the Eden Gardens, India were 10 for 2 in their second innings, needing 114 runs to defeat South Africa, who were bowled out for 153 in their second innings. India had scored 189 in their first innings in 62.2 overs.

Osborne, McCarthy win in UCI Cycling Esports WC

Abu Dhabi, Nov 16 (UNI) Germany's Jason Osborne and New Zealand's Kate McCarthy defended their titles respectively in the men's and women's finals of the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships here.
Osborne beat Michal Kaminski of Poland and Lennert Teugels of Belgium on Saturday, collecting 564 points ahead of Kaminski's 493 and Teugels' 468. Osborne claimed the inaugural title in 2020, as well as in 2024 and 2025. He also secured a silver medal in 2023 and a bronze in 2022.
