Advocates in Kakinada seek legislation for their protection

Kakinada, July 17 (UNI) Advocates in large numbers took out a procession from the Kakinada Bar association to the Collectorate here on Friday raising slogans in support of their charter of demands.
Led by Bar association president Yelchuri Subrahmanyam they called on the Collector and presented a memorandum listing their demands, mainly enactment and implementation of a special legislation to provide protection to advocates.
Their other demands include that the state government should sanction health cards to all the advocates, providing Rs.10,000 assistance to junior advocates for a period of five years.
