Administration Neglecting toward Electricity Contract Workers: BMS

Pune Dec 7 ( UNI) The Maharashtra Electricity Contract Workers’ union (affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh) Sunday said the local administration and the head office have shown serious negligence toward the ongoing unjust treatment of electricity contract workers in the state.
Despite the clear instructions issued by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the directives are not being effectively implemented at the local level, resulting in nearly 20,000 contract workers suffering every month, the union stated in a press release today.
According to the union, contract workers at 329 substations across the state have not received their salaries for the past four months. In many places, contractors and some officials are allegedly colluding to manipulate and delay workers’ wages.
