Adaptability, not just fitness, key to survival in modern battlespace: CDS Gen Anil Chauhan

Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan emphasised that survival in today’s battlespace is not about being the fittest but about those who adapt, transform, and seize emerging opportunities.
He made these remarks while addressing future strategic leaders undergoing the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-20) at the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, on Monday.
Highlighting the complexities of 21st-century security dynamics, Gen Chauhan stressed the importance of adaptability, resilience, and visionary leadership in countering evolving global power shifts, non-traditional threats, and rapid technological advancements, particularly those driven by artificial intelligence (AI). He called for a whole-of-nation approach to national security and underscored the Indian Armed Forces' role in shaping the country’s strategic future.
