Accurate data crucial for effective policy making: Kangra Deputy Commissioner

Dharamshala, Mar 6 (UNI) Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa on Friday stressed that accurate and reliable data is essential for effective government programmes and policy formulation.
Addressing a two-day workshop on strengthening the data collection system under the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework and the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) scheme at Hotel T-Bud in Palampur, the Deputy Commissioner said the quality of government decisions depends largely on the reliability of data.
He said that if the quality of data is poor, the programmes and policies formulated by the government may also be adversely affected. Therefore, ensuring accuracy and credibility in data collection and analysis is of paramount importance.
