ACB traps ADE in Nalgonda for Rs 30,000 bribe

Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) An Assistant Divisional Engineer (ADE) posted at Devarakonda in Nalgonda district was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
According to an ACB release on Friday, on Thursday, the ACB Nalgonda Range unit trapped the official when he demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant for processing and forwarding a bill worth Rs 10 lakh. The bill pertained to electrical works undertaken for the restoration of a damaged 33/11 kV power line affected during a storm on October 29, 2025.
ACB officials recovered the tainted amount from the possession of the officer at his instance. The agency stated that the accused had acted dishonestly and abused his official position to obtain undue advantage.
The officer was being arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases for judicial remand.
