ACB officials nabs superintendent in estate department of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation for accepting bribe

Kolhapur, Mar 10 (UNI) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested a Superintendent in the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC), for accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant for not taking action on his stall listed for removal in an anti-encroachment drive.
He was identified as Vilas Shamrao Salokhe (55), a Superintendent in the estate department with additional charge of encroachment.
The complainant had opened a stall to sell colours on 'Rangpanchami' day. Superintendent Salokhe frightened the complainant that his stall would be removed and demanded Rs 2,000 for not taking any action. On a complaint, the ACB officials, laid a trap this evening and caught Salokhe red-handed while taking Rs 2000 from the complainant. UNI SSS NST CDS
