Absconding Palakkad MLA appears in public after fifteen days and cast his vote in local body election

Palakkad, Dec 11 (UNI) Expelled Congress MLA from Palakkad, Rahul Mamkootathil, who had been absconding for 15 days, appeared in public on Thursday to cast his vote at Kunnathurmedu St.Sebastian School for the Palakkad municipal elections. He resurfaced after securing anticipatory bail in two rape and forced abortion cases filed by two women.
Rahul Mamkootathil went missing on November 27 during the Kannadi grama panchayat election campaign after one of the complainants petitioned the Kerala Chief Minister. The Congress party expelled him on December 4 after his initial anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Thiruvananthapuram district court.
He arrived at the polling booth around 4.45 PM, in his official MLA vehicle. With no voters in queue, he walked straight in, cast his vote, and left within minutes.
