Abhinav Bindra mourns demise of his first coach Col. J.S. Dhillon

New Delhi, Dec 17 (UNI) Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra on Wednesday paid an emotional tribute to his first coach, Col. J.S. Dhillon, who passed away earlier today, describing him as a mentor who shaped not just his sporting career but his life.
In a post on X, Bindra said his "heart is heavy" at the loss of the man who believed in him long before he achieved global recognition. The former shooter credited Col. Dhillon for giving him his earliest lessons in shooting and instilling values that became the foundation of his journey.
"He taught me perseverance when things felt difficult, discipline when I wanted to take shortcuts, and the value of hard work when results did not come immediately," Bindra wrote.
